Namaste!!!
I’m Sajana Tripathi, and I’m proud to be part of Nepal’s wonderful and ever-evolving tourism industry.

My journey into tourism began with a deep passion for travel and a strong desire to share the natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality of Nepal with the world. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with travelers from across the globe—creating memorable experiences and helping them discover the magic of the Himalayas.
From trekking adventures like Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Manaslu Circtuit Trek, to cultural tours in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan, and even high-altitude climbs to Island Peak, Lobuche, and Chulu East—I’ve always given my all to make every journey special. I’ve also helped clients design multi-country tours that include Nepal, India, and Bhutan, offering them a seamless, unforgettable experience. These varied experiences have not only enriched my understanding of travel but also strengthened my ability to customize unique and meaningful itineraries for our clients.
As the co-founder of Hiking Adventure Treks, I’ve worked hard to establish myself in what has long been a male-dominated field. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but through dedication, resilience, and the support of an incredible team, I’ve grown both personally and professionally.
I was also fortunate to serve on the board of the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), where I worked with industry leaders to promote responsible trekking and enhance overall standards of Nepal's tourism sector. From this platform, I could provide inputs in policy-making, advocate sustainable tourism, and support both host communities and travelers.
Of course, doing business within Nepal's tourism industry comes with its own set of challenges. Infrastructure difficulties and unexpected natural calamities like landslides or extreme weather conditions require daily improvisation and troubleshooting. Under any conditions, however, we at Hiking Adventure Treks work every day to assist our clients—keeping their journey safe, comfortable, and abundantly rewarding. Turning obstacles into opportunities is what we've cultured our company around.
They say behind every successful male is a female—but in my case, I must say proudly and out loud behind my success is my man, my husband Ram Barakoti. He has been my utmost support system—my backbone. From the very beginning, he encouraged me to grow, to dream big, and to believe in myself. He even encouraged me to study Spanish so that we could communicate with our international clients at a higher level. Together, we have visited a number of countries and proudly represented Nepal at multiple international travel expositions and tourism events.
To the extent possible, we also try and give back to society. From visiting old age homes to providing school supply kits, school uniforms, and stationery to the students in the remote villages, we try and do our bit to serve the less privileged. These acts of charity are a demonstration of the values that we cherish both in our personal and professional lives.
I am also actively involved with the Women Tourism Entrepreneurs Network (WTEN), through which we drive women empowerment within tourism through training, mentorship, and capacity building. I strongly believe that women's success translates into entire communities' successes as well.
For me, this has never been about business only. It's about building connections, tearing down boundaries, and being part of something beyond myself.
