Planning the Annapurna Base Camp Trek logistics – when to go?
Basically, there are two high season for Annapurna Base Camp Trekking
They are:
Spring – from March to May, and
Autumn – from September to November
You will love spring for the greenery, flower blossom, clear skies and snow residue. On the other hand, Autumn attracts most of the trekkers. That’s again, clear skies, dry land, forgiving climate and a holiday feeling.

Day to Day Itinerary for Annapurna Base Camp Trek Logistics
An 11 day itinerary that we have developed for our clients is briefly described below:
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu. Our representative will give you a warm welcome and arrange your transfer from the airport and to the Hotel booked by us.
Day 2: Drive or fly to Pokhara(825m) from Kathmandu. It will take 6 hours in drive and 25 minutes of Flight. It’s all depends on availability.
Day 3: It’s the day when we start the trek. Firstly 2 hours drive to Nayapul and then 6-hour trekking to Gandruk (2000m).
Day 4: 5-6 hours of walking to Chhomarong (2100m) from Gandruk.
Day 5: 6-7 hours trekking to Himalayan Hotel (2850m) from Chhomarong.
Day 6: 6-7 hours trekking to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m) from Himalayan Hotel.
Day 7: 8-9 hours trekking to Annapurna Base Camp (4100m) from Machhapuchhre base camp and back to Sinuwa.
Day 8: 4-5 hours trekking to Jinudanda (1200m) from Sinuwa.
Day 9: 4 hours trekking to Nayapul from Jindanda and 2 hours drive to Pokhara.
Day 10: Drive or Fly to Kathmandu from Pokhara. It will take 6 hours in drive and 25 minutes of Flight. It’s all depends on availability.
Day 11: Checkout from Hotel and departure.
Permits required for Annapurna Base Camp Trek
There are 2 kinds of permit you need for Annapurna Base Camp Trekking to make sure that Annapurna Base Camp trek won’t be interrupted by government officials while going through various checkpoints which are located inside the Annapurna region. This is all for our safety and security.

What you need to get hold of the permits
– 2 passport photos
– 1 copy of your passport
– Travel Insurance (As you are going to remote area, it is required to have travel insurance covering helicopter evacuation if necessary or
If you are traveling with us, we got all these covered. Just bring some passport size photographs, a few copy of your passports and a copy of your insurance.
Trekking Gears for Annapurna Base Camp Trek
You don’t need so much trekking gear because the company provides all. You just need to buy trekking stick, warm clothes (thermals), a pair of good hiking shoes etc. You can rent that all items from local shops of Thamel, Kathmandu. Trekking gears are not so expensive in Nepal. Sleeping bag and Down jackets are provided by us.
What to bring with you or in your backpack for Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
• Your TIMS card and national park permit (your guide will help you as he/she knows about the check points.
• Good backpack with hip straps
• Enough cash in Nepalese Rupees because there are not any ATM on the way to Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
• GPS and/or map
• A pair of Good Hiking boots (Try to buy Waterproof).
• Water purification tablets/water filter – saves you a lot of money as purified water can be expensive.
• Water bladder or Nalgene bottle
• Trekking Stick
