Gokyo Chola Pass Trek with Everest base camp trek is a fantastic trek highlighting all of the high valleys surrounding Everest culminating with the ascent of Kala Patthar and the walk to Everest Base Camp. We have extra time at Gokyo to explore the upper valley, providing the most extensive view of Everest in the whole of the Khumbu. With time to explore villages and monasteries and to sample the incredible hospitality of the Sherpa people, this trek is unbeatable.
We begin our trek with an unforgettable mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Walking through delightful Sherpa villages Namche Bazaar then we make our way to the Sherpa capital of Khumjung Valley. Here we have allowed time for essential acclimatization. Continuing higher to Gokyo Chola Pass Trek we explore the upper valley beneath the huge bulk of Cho Oyu. From here and from the top of Gokyo Ri (5,480m) we have an unbelievable view of Everest and the surrounding peaks and glaciers. During the trek if you wish to visit Local school to observe how the children life education going on in high altitude our guide will help you to get you there.
After we explore Gokyo RI we will go to chola Pass and follow the trail that goes to Lobuche, Everest base camp & Kala Pattar. After we reach at Phortse village our trek continues through the Khumbu valley to the top of Kala Pattar (5,555m) for even more spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, we have a day to visit Everest Base Camp across the Khumbu Glacier at the foot of the immensely impressive Khumbu icefall. Our return journey will take us to Tengboche monastery, the most important center of Buddhism in the area, before ending our trek at Lukla and another opportunity to experience the exciting mountain flight to Kathmandu. Who are not wishes to cross Chola Pass they are request just to go Gokyo valley and Everest base camp via Phortse Village in easy way.

Tour Plan
Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m) / Transfer to Hotel
HAT Representative will be waiting with your name plate just outside the International Airport in Kathmandu. After your arrival, we will organize your transportation to the designated hotel in Kathmandu. Spend the afternoon browsing the beautiful streets of Thamel or visit the nearby Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, we will meet for welcome dinner and tour briefing.

Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing / Trek Preparation
After breakfast, we will join guided tour to visit various sites in the valley - most of them listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Get off and browse the famous Pashupatinath Temple, Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath. Come back to hotel and prepare for the morning flight, drive and short trek the next day.

Day 3 Domestic Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2880m) [45-Minutes], trek to Phakding (2640m) [4-Hours]
From Kathmandu, we will take a 45-minute towards Lukla. Lukla flight is unique due to the stunning mountain views and landing at one of world's highest altitude airstrip.
Lukla is a bustling town with shops, restaurants and facilities for guests. After some rest, we will start trekking towards Phakding village. It will take 3-4 hours of trekking according to the pace. Phakding is larger than Lukla and is equipped with restaurants, tea-houses, bars and restaurants for trekkers.

Day 4 Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3445m) [5/6-Hours]
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise at Phakding. After breakfast, we start the trek following the trails. Encounter local people, children, yaks and fellow trekkers as you move through Sagarmatha National Park and a few registration posts held up by local police. Cross high suspension bridge and climb until you reach Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest. Namche is also housed with various accommodation, food and hangout facilities.

Day 5 Acclimatization Day. Hike to Hotel Everest View (3962m) and back to Namche [5/6-Hours]
We take to spend the day in Namche Bazaar to adjust physically to the high altitude, referred as acclimatization. Acclimatization helps adopt our body to the increasing altitude and reduces the risk of altitude sickness.
Namche has Tibetan market selling clothes and cheap Chinese goods with the weekly wholesale market to browse. Even though we are acclimatizing, we will still need to stay active. So let's hike up to the famous Everest View Hotel and back.

Day 6 Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phorse (3810m) [6-Hours]
After breakfast, we start our trekking following the Gokyo trails and separating from Everest Base Camp trail. On the way, there are incredible view of Mount Ama Dablam, Tawoche and Thamserku mountains. We descend to Dudhkoshi River and finally arrive to Phorse.

Day 7 Trek from Phorse to Machhermo (4470m) [6-Hours]
After breakfast, we cross a bridge and follow the trails towards Dole. Like earlier day, there will be great views of mountains. We are mostly walking along Dudhkoshi River. At Phorse, we will visit a non-profit medical center established to help trekkers in the high altitudes, including getting vital information about Altitude Sickness and Emergency protocols.

Day 8 Trek from Machharmo to Gokyo (4800m) [6/7-Hours]
After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Gokyo. Dudh Koshi Valley widens up for a great view along with Cho-Oyu Mountains. After 6-7 hours of enjoyable trek, we finally reach Dudhpokhari (Milk Pond) for overnight stay.

Day 9 Climb Gokyo Ri (5350m), hike to 5th Lakes, and acclimatize [5/6-Hours]
Today will be spent acclimatizing our body and exploring the beautiful Gokyo Region. Climbing on top of Gokyo Ri will bring us great view of the sparkling Gokyo Lakes. Later, we climb down and hike towards the two other Lakes in the region. The region provides great views of the world's tallest mountain, Mount Everest (8848m) along with Lhotse, Nuptse and Makalu peaks. The world's biggest glacier, Ngazumpa, will also be visible from there.

Day 10 Trek from Gokyo to Thagnak (4750m) [4/5-Hours]
It's a fairly short hike today from Gokyo to Thagnak. This day also works as contingency to explore more of Gokyo if the previous day wasn't enough. Otherwise, a short 4-hour trek will bring us to Thagnak in the afternoon. As you might have guessed, our journey is now towards Everest.

Day 11 Trek from Thagnak to Dzongla (4300m) via Cho La Pass (5357m) [7/8-Hours]
Brace yourself as it's going to be a tough part of our trip today. Be careful as you travel through the Cho La Pass to reach the other side of the mountains, and open up our trail towards Mount Everest. The views of rising Ama Dablam and nearby mountains will be amazing as we arrive to the other side of the pass.

Day 12 Trek from Dzongla to Lobuche (4940m) [2/3-Hours]
After the previous day's challenging trek, today will again be a short 3-hour hike towards Lobuche, a famous village in the Everest Region. Take rest and prepare for another long journey the next day.

Day 13 Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m) via Gorakshep (5150m) and trek back to Gorak shep [8-Hours]
Our journey from Lobuche leads us to yet another Sherpa settlement, Gorakshep after 6-7 hours trek. This is a popular stop for trekkers. Nuptse, Cholatse, Lobuche, and Pumori overlook the Lobuche village as we visit the Everest Base Camp including Majestic Mount Everest.

Day 14 Hike to Kala patthar (5545m) for Everest View and trek to Pheriche (4240m) [8-Hours]
Our next 7-8 hours trek leads us to Pheriche from Gorakshep with Kala Patthar along the way. Kala Patthar offers an amazing panoramic view of the summit of soaring high mountains. We will climb the hill and enjoy an elevated view of the Himalaya.

Day 15 Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3860m) [5-Hours]
Marking the start of our return journey, we climb down from Pheriche to Tengboche. Trekking for about 5-6 hours, all the beautiful view and close inspection of Sherpa culture make it worth the rocky trails among the Himalayas.

Day 16 Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar [5/6-Hours]
We are on our way back from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar with 6-7 hours trek. Spending our last night at Namche, talking to locals and kids is an amazing way to get little closer to the mountainous lifestyle.

Day 17 Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla [6-Hours]
Bidding our goodbye to glimpses of the highest summit of the world, we return back to Lukla from Namche Bazaar by trekking for about 6-7 hours. Every moment of the last couple of days spent will be a lifetime memory.

Day 18 Domestic Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu [35-Minutes]
Taking a 35-minutes flight back to Kathmandu, today is our final day here. This day is ideal for visiting Swayambhunath Stupa and exploring local streets Thamel. Taking a walk through Thamel, a busy tourist spot, buying souvenirs from here is the pretty good option.
