Nepal Government has officially opened Tourism for travelers with no mandatory quarantine and on arrival visa for vaccinated travelers with valid certifications. The government of Nepal decided to grant on arrival visa to nationals of those countries who are entitled to as per the prevalent law and who have taken complete dose (s) of Covid-19 Vaccines. The fully vaccinated visitors may apply for the Visa at the entry points of Immigration in Nepal with the following additional documents, besides other documents for on arrival visa.
1) Evidence of Completion of 14 days period of full vaccination against Covid- 19.
2) 72 hours Covid-19 negative report from a Govt/WHO recognized hospital or clinic which is required prior to the check-in at the Airline Counter at the airport!!
3) A copy of mountaineering/ trekking permits or other related Permits, if required.
4) Proof of hotel reservation in Nepal.
5) A printed copy of the filled-up International Traveler Online Arrival form obtained after registration in www.ccmc.gov.np.
As per the safety protocols, all foreign nationals entering Nepal must undergo Antigen Test upon arrival at the Nepal Immigration entry point and if found Negative, they may carry on with their travel as scheduled in Nepal. But, in case they are tested Positive, they shall be sent to an isolation center, a designated hotel or a hospital as recommended by the Ministry of Health and Population.
For those who are unable to undergo Antigen Test at the Nepal Immigration Entry Point, PCR Test or Antigen Test must be taken when in the hotel, and the visitor shall be allowed movement from the hotel only after RT PCR Negative.
For Visitors who are not vaccinated, Visa must be obtained beforehand from the respective Nepal Embassy abroad or through Visa Recommendation through travel/ tour/ trekking agency in Nepal. Such visitors will have to stay mandatory Quarantine for 10 days and if on 11th day are found PCR Negative, they may also proceed with their travel schedule.
This decision was made official by the Cabinet Secretariat on Thursday 23rd Sept 2021 and will remain valid until further notice or any amendments made.
Visit Nepal 2020 dream was shattered by Covid 19 following fewer tourists in the autumn season of 2021 as well.
