Khopra Ridge Trek also known as Khopra Danda Trek or Khyar Trek one of the beautiful trek in Annapurna via Ghorepani Poonhill Trek through the community village. Poon Hill is a famous short trek popular among many trekkers for its low elevation and stunning views in high seasons you can meet more than 300 trekker reaching to Poon Hill to See Sunrise from Ghorepani. Khopra Ridge takes this adventure to another level by adding a unique and remote trail deep into the Annapurna Region.
Khopra Ridge Trek can be accessed from Ghorepani. This means we separate from the flock of tourists headed towards Poon Hill and continue into the wilderness. The views from the ridge are out of this world. Khopra Ridge Trek allows for spectacular views of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and other mountains in the region. Further, it adds to the experience of remote region trekking, mountain lake tour and off-the-beaten-path travel. Additionally, a side trek towards Kaire Lake will provide more insight into the already spectacular region.
If you’re looking for the perfect week-long trek, Khopra Ridge Trek is a great choice for you. It combines the best of what Nepal has to offer: amazing mountain views, pastoral villages, and rice fields layered on top of each other, descending down into the valley.
Still today, very few people are aware about the beautiful trek that leads to the Khopra Ridge. The route follows a local trail via Ghandrunk, Tadapani, Dobato, Chistibung and that takes you down to the valley north of Ghorepani. Then you climb up the “Khopra Ridge” and Khyar Lake adds a different and unique perspective to the Annapurna Mountain Range.
The trek towards Khopra than turns downhill, eventually bringing us to Nayapul. The back journey will be strenuous on the knees (use trekking sticks) but will provide a different perspective to the region, the other side of the hill from where we drive towards Pokhara. While you are in Pokhara dont miss to visit the Peace Stupa and boating at Phewa Lake
