Western Triangle Tour


Western Triangle Tour is the perfect blend of natural beauty, diverse culture, and wildlife. Western triangle tour begins from Kathmandu to Shuklaphanta in far-west in the southern plain. As altitude throughout the tour ranges from 1400 meters to 109 meters, you’ll get to experience diverse culture, natural ecosystem, cuisine and many more. Each place we visit has its unique culture and different from each other. This includes Newar in Kathmandu Valley, Tharu in Chitwan and Bardia along with other ethnic groups like Brahmin, Chhetri, and Mongoloid. Religion majority follow is Hinduism.

This tour is a 9 days package. You will arrive Kathmandu in your day one and check in into the designated hotel. Next day we leave via flight or drive for Chitwan from Kathmandu and spend the night there. The third day of Western Triangle Tour is full day exploration of Chitwan. You can explore the wildlife in Chitwan National Park and enjoy Jeep Safari and Elephant ride. You can also visit Beeshazari Lake, Tikauli Jungle, Elephant Breeding center and Wildlife Display and Information Center. Traditional Tharu dance is unique that cannot be missed. Further ahead, we drive to Bardia National Park passing through Nepalgunj. The drive along the Mahendra highway in southern plain is an amazing experience and on the way, we have some stops to taste local food and buy locals. On day five, you can explore Bardia National Park which has the very wide range of flora and fauna. The Bardia national park receives fewer tourists as compared with others but had lots of activities to fulfill. Short rafting in Karnali is the wildest experience that you encounter. In our sixth day, we need to reach Mahendranagar and transfer to a hotel to spend the night. The seventh day is for exploring Shuklaphanta National Park and you can go wildlife and bird watching on elephant back. We return back Kathmandu via direct flight from Dhangadi and go sightseeing on the eighth day of the tour.

  • day 1

    Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m) / Transfer to Hotel

    Upon arriving, you will be received by one of our company’s representative. You’ll then check in into the designated hotel for the overnight.

  • day 2

    Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu-Chitwan (25 mins) or Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan (6 Hrs) (415m)

    On our day two, we need to reach Chitwan. You can choose to catch a 25 minutes flight or a 6 hours’ drive. You reach Chitwan, home to local Tharu tribe, beautiful villages at 415meters. Welcome to the land of Rhino.

  • day 3

    Day 03: Full Day Chitwan Sightseeing

    We have a whole day to experience Jungle Safari in Chitwan National Park. You can explore the wildlife by taking Jeep Safari and Elephant ride. You also visit Elephant Breeding Center. As culture here is pretty unique, you can learn more by visiting Tharu Museum and watching Tharu cultural dance in the evening.

    Day 04: Drive from Chitwan to Nepalgunj and then drive to Bardia National Park (1141-152m)

    Next, we drive to Nepalgunj from Chitwan and it takes 3-4 hours. Driving to Bardia National Park from Nepalgunj takes 3 more hours. Get relax enjoy the birds singing and chirping in the forest.

    Day 05: Full day exploration of Bardia National Park

    Bardia National Park has the variety of wildlife including. It has many endangered animals like Bengal Tiger, rhinoceros, elephant, swamp deer, Gangetic Dolphin and many more. The elephant ride you will take you to discover the beauty of flora and fauna.

  • day 6

    Day 06: Drive to Mahendranagar and transfer to hotel (109m)

    We drive all the way from Bardia National Park to Mahendranagar reaching an altitude of 109 meters. You are then transferred to a hotel. In the evening drive to Dodhara Chandani suspension bridge, is an art of engineering design with longest such bridge in Asia.

  • day 7

    Day 07: Full day exploration of Shuklaphanta National Park (Jungle Safari/Bird Watching) (174-1386m)

    Shuklaphanta is known for open grassland and largest herd of swamp deer. View the longer distance from view tower located inside the park, make a count of swamp deer, one of the largest herds. Sunset brings you joy and relaxation.

  • day 8

    Day 08: Fly back to Kathmandu/Sightseeing

    We will depart to Dhangadi to catch the flight to Kathmandu. Your flight from Dhangadi to Kathmandu will take 1 hour and 10 minutes. Later in the day, you can go sightseeing around Kathmandu, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath (sacred Hindu temple), Boudhanath and Swayambhunath (the monkey temple).

FAQ

This trek is suitable for average people who are moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on your journey. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.
To prepare for a strenuous trek like this you should begin training at least two to three months before your departure. As a guideline, an hour of aerobic exercise three to four times per week would be considered a minimum requirement. The best preparation is bushwalking involving relatively steep ascents and descents. If you can manage a couple of valley floor to ridgeline ascents per comfortable and able to enjoy the trek to the fullest.
Yes, our airport representative will be there to greet you at the airport. S/he will be displaying an Ace the Himalaya signboard outside the airport terminal. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in our tourist vehicle.
