Pokhara Dhampus Trek is an exciting hike around Pokhara Valley and the Annapurna Region. The valley is blessed with majestic view of Mount Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and other peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Range.

Pokhara is a beautiful valley of lakes. Among them, Phewa Lake is the most famous with options to boat and watch a blissful sunset along with the panoramic views of mountains in the north and green hills that loom in from the south. Dhampus trek adds to the majestic of Pokhara as we hike with stunning views of mountains and rich culture of the valley.

Dhampus (1650m) trek is a beautiful walk to the north of Pokhara Valley. This hike offers an eye-catching view of Mt Annapurna, Mt. Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other peaks as we hike from touristic Pokhara towards the Gurung Settlement of Dhampus. Next day, we trek towards Sarangkot Hill and spend another night. Sarangkot Hill offers stunning view of rising and setting sun along with a bird-eye view of the valley underneath. Our trek ends as we drive back to Pokhara.

This trail takes hikers through the village of culturally rich Gurungs, their daily lifestyle and traditions. Native Gurungs are farmers and animal herders. We also pass through the dense rhododendron forests, terraced farmlands, and various flora and fauna. Pokhara Dhampus trek is full of stunning mountain views – Mount Machhapuchhre (6991m) also known as Fish TailHiunchuli (6441m), Lamjung Himal (6993m), Ganesh Himal (7446m) and Annapurna Range from Dhampus HillSunrise and Sunset are fascinating.

<p>We will enjoy magnificent sunrise view from Sarangkot hill, as the morning sun lights up the shadows of the valley down below us. It's a good idea to have a camera. Later, we will start a 2 hour hike towards the central town of Pokhara. This trek is suitable for average people who are moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on your journey. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.
To prepare for a strenuous trek like this you should begin training at least two to three months before your departure. As a guideline, an hour of aerobic exercise three to four times per week would be considered a minimum requirement. The best preparation is bushwalking involving relatively steep ascents and descents. If you can manage a couple of valley floor to ridgeline ascents per comfortable and able to enjoy the trek to the fullest.
Yes, our airport representative will be there to greet you at the airport. S/he will be displaying an Ace the Himalaya signboard outside the airport terminal. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in our tourist vehicle.
