Mustang Tiji Festival Trek , native to the ancient capital of Lo-Manthang is celebrated during the arrival of spring. A number of lore and stories is connected to this festival, including the story of Dorje Jono, considered to be an incarnation of Buddha, has to defeat his demon father to preserve his city. The festivities take place in the middle of the city courtyard where a large Thangkha of Buddha is hung on one of the walls while monks dressed in colorful attire sing for dancers, also dressed in colorful attire and masks, each depicting a character of the story.

The main purpose of the festival is to pray for world peace, prosperity in Lo-Manthang and entire Nepal. Mustang Tiji Festival trek will not only provide you with the experience of Tiji Festival, it will also give you the experience of trekking through some of the most remote parts of Nepal. Starting in Kathmandu, you will take the route to Pokhara and then Jomsom throughout which you can observe beautiful views of mountains such as Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri. You will also visit villages such as German and then through the Nyi Li Pass at the altitude of 3840m. Other villages such as Tsarang will offer you an insight into the culture of the region through small Chorten and stupas adorned with bright murals depicting stories of Buddha. You will also visit the magnificent temple of Muktinath, considered to be holy by both Hindus and Buddhists, hence the temple sees flocks of tourists on pilgrimage every year.

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) / Transfer to Hotel

From Kathmandu Airport (TIA), our staff will pick you up and arrange your transfer to a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu. Welcome Dinner in the evening. Rest until the next day.

Day 02

Kathmandu Sightseeing / Preparation for the trek

Explore the beautiful World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. We will visit Pashupatinath, Swayambhu, Patan and Kathmandu Durbar to better understand the history and culture of Nepal. We will pack and prepare for the journey the next day. 7-hour bus ride to Pokhara. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03

Domestic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m) [5/6-Hours]

Day 04

Domestic Flight from Pokhara to Jomsom (2720m) [20-Minutes] and trek to Kagbeni(2800m)[4-Hours]

Day 05

Trek to Chhuksang (3100m) [6-Hours]

Day 06

Trek to Ghiling (3,570m) via Chuksi Cave [7-Hours]

Day 07

Trek from Ghiling to Drakmar (3450m) [5/6-Hours]

Day 08

Trek to Lo-Manthang (3840m) [6/7-Hours] via Ghar Gompa and Marang-La Pass

Day 09

Observe Tenji Festival at Lo-Manthang

Day 10

Trek from Lo Manthang to Yara(3580m) [5/6-Hours]

Day 11

Rest Day at Yara. Explore Luri Gompa.

Day 12

Trek from Yara to Tange (3320) [5/6-Hours]

Day 13

Trek from Tange to Chhuksang (3310m) [9/10-Hours]

Day 14

Trek from Chhusang to Muktinath (3710m) [6/7-Hours]

Day 15

Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2720m) [5-Hours]

Day 16

Domestic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (820m), explore Pokhara.

Day 17

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu [7-Hours]

Transfer to Airport / Departure
