An Overview of Mt. Kailash Manasarovar Tour 

Hindus only Pilgrimage tour to Mt Kailash Manasarovar Tour, are considered to be the most sacred by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains & Bonpos. Mt Kailash is known as Ghang Rinpoche “Jewel of Snow” by Tibetans, they consider it as the “Naval of the world”. For Buddhists, Mt Kailash is the “Abode of Arhats” (those who have attained paradise). Bonpos consider, Shanrab their founder, descended from the heavens on this mountain. The Hindus consider Mt Kailash as the “Center of the universe” & the abode of Lord Shiva & Parvati. South of Mt Kailash, at the base of Mt. Gurla Mandhata, there are the two lakes, Lake Manasarovar & Rakshas Tal. Rakshas Tal, the smaller lake, is considered to be inauspicious & Manasarovar is considered to be most sacred & worthy of salvation. Hindus believe that Gods descend down from heaven to take a bath in this holy lake.

Buddhists believe that Queen Maya took a bath in this holy lake before giving birth to Lord Buddha. The glaciers of Mt. Kailash & Mt. Gurla Mandhata feed both these lake. Since ages many hermits & pilgrims have been undertaking journeys to this sacred & the holiest of all Mt. Kailash Manasarovar tour, because of the religious & mythological importance. Mt Kailash Manasarovar Tour is situated in southern Tibet aptly known as the “Roof of the world”. You will have difference way to visit Kailash Manasarovar tour routes either from Western Nepal, By Lhasa Everest base camp or by kyurung boarder. 

Detail Itinerary

Day 01

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m) / Transfer to Hotel

Day 02

Day 02: Kathmandu valley tour (Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath)

After breakfast, we will join guided tour to visit various sites in the valley - most of them listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Get off and browse the famous Pashupatinath Temple, Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath. Come back to hotel and prepare for the journey the next day.

Day 03

Day 03:

Drive to Syabrubeshi (1450 m). 150km, a small town near Rashuwa Gadhi, the Border of Nepal and China. O/n at the hotel, Syaprubeshi

Day 04

Day 04:

: Drive to China border (Friendship bridge). After completion of customs formalities, Drive (45km.) to Kerung (4130m). O/N at the Hotel.

Day 05

Da 05:

Whole day Leisure time at Kerung, a border city in Tibet, China for acclimatization. O/N at the Hotel, Kerung.

Day 06

Day 06:

Drive Kerung to Saga or Dong-Pa. O/N at the Hotel.

Day 07

Day 07:

Drive to Lake Mansarovar (4540m) for about 350 km by way of Prayang and Mayum La Pass (5200 m). O/N at the Guest House.

Day 08

Day 08:

In the morning, Indulge in Holy Bath, Puja and Homa and afternoon drive to Tarchen (Base camp of Kailash).

Day 09

Day 09:

Drive to Yam Dwar (4/ 5km) by way of Darchen. Then, start trekking/parikarma (Kora) to Dirapuk (4910m) for 13 km. O/N at the guest house, Dirapuk.

Day 10

Day 10:

: Experience the spirituality of 22km. Parikarma on the 2nd day up to Zuthulphuk (4795m) via Dolmala Pass (5800m). O/N at the guest house, Zuthulphuk.

Day 11

Day 11:

Short Trek (about 7 km.) & drive back to Dharchen. After Lunch, drive to Dong-Pa or Saga. O/N at the Hotel.

Day 12

Day 12:

Drive to Kerung and O/N at the Hotel.

Day 13

Day 13:

Drive from Kerung to Kathmandu (160km) and transfer to hotel. Farewell Dinner & O/N at the hotel, kathmandu.

Day 14

Day 14:

Transfer to TIA, Kathmandu connecting your onward journey.

  • 3-Night Accommodation in Kathmandu and 1-Night Accommodation in Syabrubeshi on Twin-Sharing and Full Board basis, with all meals (Pure veg. meals) at the hotel in Kathmandu

  • Personal nature of expenses like telephone calls, tips, shopping, laundry, cold/hard drinks and other services, not mentioned in the itinerary.    
  • Extra costs caused by force majour, unavoidable circumstances such as road blockage due to landslides, snowfall, political strikes, flight cancellation, personal illness, etc. if any.
  • The additional costs such as Visa splitting charge, transportation cost, accommodation, meals, flight schedule amendment charge, etc. to be incurred in case any guest ceases to continue the scheduled itinerary.
