Feel high to Mardi Himal Trek in Nepal. Experience walking through villages, camps, forests, hills and snow to reach the majestic view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre Peaks.

Trek to the High Camp (4,500 meters) of Annapurna Region in western Nepal. Wake up stunned to the view of Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, Ganesh and the most Majestic Mount Machhapuchhre (also called Mt. Fishtail representing the peak shape). Catch the sunrise and sunset.

Trekking grade is moderately easy. Food and sleeping arrangements are good in local tea-houses. No hot water in the mountains. Treat yourself in the Lakeside of Pokhara at the beginning or end of the trek. Take beautiful pictures and leave no trace !


7-hour via highway and 40-minutes via air is spent to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu. Take some days before or after your trek to explore Pokhara. Fewa Lake, villages in the west, Peace Pagoda, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Davis Falls and several other beautiful spots are worth visiting. Drive up Sarangkot Hill for eye-stunning sunrise.

  • day 1

    Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) / Transfer to Hotel

    From Kathmandu Airport (TIA), our staff will pick you up and arrange your transfer to a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu. Welcome Dinner in the evening. Rest until the next day.

  • day 2

    Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing / Preparation for trek

    Explore the beautiful World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. We will visit Pashupatinath, Swayambhu, Patan and Kathmandu Durbar to better understand the history and culture of Nepal. We will pack and prepare for the journey the next day. 7-hour bus ride to Pokhara. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • day 3

    Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (850m) [7-Hours]

    We will take the Prithvi Highway early in the morning to reach Pokhara.The drive is scenic with views of Trishuli River, rafting & kayaking activities in the Trishuli River, Cable Cars as we drive towards Muglin and head west towards Pokhara.

    Enjoy the evening comfortably at the Lakeside or explore the nostalgic town. Overnight in Pokhara.

  • day 4

    Day 04: Drive to Kande[2-Hours], trek to Pitam Deurali (2100m) via Australian Camp [3-Hours]

    From Pokhara, we will drive to Kande, which is the starting point of trek. 2-hours of trekking up the local village and lush forest will bring us to the famous Austrian Base Camp and later to Pitam Deurali. It will be a delightful evening with shining stars on a clear night.

  • day 5

    Day 05: Trek from Pitam Deurali to Low Camp (2480m) [6-Hours]

    Trek in similar terrain for around 6 hours to reach Forest Camp, and then to Low Camp. Rhododendrons color the forest before and during spring season. It is equally captivating to trek around mid-February when the snow has just started melting.

    Overnight: Low Camp / Tea-house

  • day 6

    Day 06: Trek from Low Camp to Badal Dada (3000m) [3-Hours]

    Continue among the trail. Mostly uphill. The mountain views already start to appear. At Badal Dada View Point, spectacular view of the mountains can be seen. After breakfast, we will continue towards the High Camp for some more mountain watch. Watch beautiful sunset over the west with Mount Machhapuchhre at the north.

  • day 7

    Day 07: Trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m) and return to High Camp (3580m) [6/7-Hours]

    We wake up early morning for stunning sunsrise view. Mount Machchapuchhre looks stunningly close with Mount Dhaulagiri and Annapurna on its left. We will continue our trek towards base Camp of Mardi Himal for an even closer look of the mountains. Later we will return to High Camp.

  • day 8

    Day 08: Trek from High Camp to Sidhing (1850m)[6-Hours]

    We start downhill trek leaving the mountains behind. Mount Machhapuchhre peaks now and then as we descend into open areas. Today's trek is downhill and we recommend hiking poles to balance the weigh on the knees. At the base is a beautiful village of Sidhing with well facilitated Lodge.

  • day 9

    Day 09: Trek to Milan Chowk [3-Hours], drive to Pokhara [40-Minutes]

    After breakfast, we will trek south towards the highway. Once there, we will drive back to Pokhara and spend the rest of the evening. Fewa lake boat-ride-sunset in the evening.

    Day 10: Pokhara Sightseeing [All Day]

    We will spend the whole day touring popular places in the Pokhara. Areas around Fewa Lake, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Peace Pagoda, Sarangkot Hill and other famous places.

    Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu [7-Hours]

FAQ

This trek is suitable for average people who are moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on your journey. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.
To prepare for a strenuous trek like this you should begin training at least two to three months before your departure. As a guideline, an hour of aerobic exercise three to four times per week would be considered a minimum requirement. The best preparation is bushwalking involving relatively steep ascents and descents. If you can manage a couple of valley floor to ridgeline ascents per comfortable and able to enjoy the trek to the fullest.
Yes, our airport representative will be there to greet you at the airport. S/he will be displaying an Ace the Himalaya signboard outside the airport terminal. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in our tourist vehicle.
