Overview

Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang Valley Trek is a mesmerizing journey to one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. From Kathmandu, take a 9 hour ride along the curvy Trishuli Highway. Your trek starts the next day as you cross the suspension bridge over Langtang River, and start ascending along the valley.

Langtang Valley Trek is relatively easy and less crowded. Thus, trekking is peaceful and gives you the feels of an explorer. Syabrubesi (the town where we overstay the first day), is a town just a few kilometers away from the Tibet border.

Highlights of Langtang Valley Trek

Throughout the trek, we explore higher mountains of the Langtang Region, Beautiful Tamang villages and also come across rich forests and wildlife (Langtang National Park), meadows and rivers.

Langtang Valley Trek is unique and untouched by modernization except a small helipad at the Kyanjin Village. The locals run tea-houses for catering the trekkers’. Horses and mules are still used as the major form of transporting goods up the mountain. The people are Buddhists, raise Yaks and follow the Tamang culture and heritage.

We trek along the banks of Langtang River to gradually ascend towards Kyangjin Village. Flora and fauna changes from tropical to alpine as we gain altitude. As the valley opens up, great views of rocky hills and snow-clad mountains fills up the panorama. On the last day of ascend, we climb up Kyanjin Ri to view Ganesh Himal and Langtang Mountains up close, along with other Mountain peaks in the region.

Trip Review

John Smith Langtang Valley Trek

Hiking Adventure crew is real professional when it comes down to mountain trekking assistance. I traveled with this company on April and was amazed by their knowledge of terrain. Each step was a great challenge. I am thinking of doing the Annapurna Circuit next year. Thank you all the team and specially our guide Suman Tamang who helped us experience the unexplored. Love from Australia.
