Mardi Himal trek is relatively easy and new trekking route in the Annapurna region, filled with stunning scenery of Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and surrounding peaks. Mardi Himal is located west of the Kathmandu valley, accessible via Pokhara. It is one of the most famous treks for stunning views of the Annapurna Himalayas range and the Mardi Himal trek offers abundant of the stunning scenery of Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and its surrounding peaks.  

It is also regarded as a hidden gem or off the beaten trekking trail and the perfect destination to escape away from the crowded trek of the Annapurna Base Camp. The trail goes along the small winding paths, through enchanted rhododendron forests until you climb out of the forest at an elevation around the 3300 meters. The magnificent landscapes change quite abruptly into a rugged high mountain landscape, with amazing views of the Mardi Himal, Macjhhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

This trek is suitable for average people who are moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on your journey. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.
To prepare for a strenuous trek like this you should begin training at least two to three months before your departure. As a guideline, an hour of aerobic exercise three to four times per week would be considered a minimum requirement. The best preparation is bushwalking involving relatively steep ascents and descents. If you can manage a couple of valley floor to ridgeline ascents per comfortable and able to enjoy the trek to the fullest.
